Well, here I am on a mission to write my first entry. It does, indeed, seem strange to be writing to "no one" and "everyone" at the same time. (What a world we live in where we ask strangers into our personal space! We can open our lives to people all over the world and at the same time we do not know our next-door neighbors!)
I think the idea of keeping a journal is a good one, and I tell kids at school that it's easy. However, I may find this a bit harder that I preach.
Today I am in a rather odd mood. I think many teachers go through the "oh-my-it's-time-to-sign-my-contract-and-do-I-really-want-to-stay-here" syndrome. Well, I've got a bad case of it! To be truthful, ibd_graybear and I are thinking of joing the Peace Corps. That sounds like a great idea and it's something I've wanted to do for many years. It will be interesting to see how things go with the recruiter later in the month.
I am keeping this short (like me! I'm only 5'2") and I hope to have more to say later in the week.
I did see a great bumper sticker a month or so ago. "It will be a great day for education when schools get the money they need and the army has to have a bake sale to buy a bomber." I suppose this may generate some thoughts... :)
